Waulking Singing Tile
Inspired by the practice of waulking songs (songs that were sung predominantly by women in the Scottish highlands whilst processing wool)
A white stoneware tile decorated with the cuerda seca glazing technique.
Handmade - slab built, cut and glazed by hand.
A bespoke design, only made once.
This tile was made for the exhibition ‘Vent’ by Flos Collective as part of Celtic Connections, Glasgow.
Dimensions:
81 × 81 × 6 mm
The tile is fitted with an adhesive disc so that it can be hung on a nail or hook.
Postage is Tracked 48 with Royal Mail
